My ‘something different today’ was very spontaneous. I saw a quick video on Pinterest on how to make a healthy yummy 4 ingredient Fruity Frozen Yoghurt, and I was immediately inspired, especially because it looks so easy… and I had all the ingredients. However, I got up from viewing the video without saving the post! Eeeek! Therefore, my attempt at making this was purely by memory and eyeballing most of the quantities. I was so excited to try this recipe that when I began filming my experience – I called it a Sorbet – but it is actually a Fruity Frozen Yoghurt recipe. However, it was such fun making it and a spectacular success. So yum!!!
In my household we have cut refined cane sugar out of our diet – for the most part – some sneaks in in pre-made products. So, given this lifestyle, I am always on the hunt for healthier recipes of treats, because we all have a sweet tooth. Removing obvious refined cane sugar from our diet has not eliminated the want and enjoyment of eating a sweet treat. We just find the recipes that contain no sugar or an alternative healthy sugar. This one hit the spot!
I was always under the impression that in order to make a sorbet or frozen yoghurt, one needs special equipment like an ice-cream maker. I was wrong. If you have a freezer and a food processor then you are good to go. I even think this could possibly be made – if perhaps halving the ingredients – in the likes of a Nutri-bullet type contraption. I have not yet tried but I am going to.
We are in summer here in South Africa so beautiful plump juicy Nectarines are in season. I love Nectarines. As it happened, I already had little containers of chopped freshly frozen nectarines in my freezer. What a win – I could get on with the first step of this recipe straight away. Yay!
Please watch my attached video if you are interested in making this delicious and super easy Frozen Yoghurt. I may not have begun the exercise with an exact ingredient list in front of me, but the result from the quantities I used gave me a perfect result – so my short-term memory ain’t so bad.
It was absolutely freaking delicious! I found another easy recipe filled with healthy goodness to add to my recipe book and it was a lot of fun to make. I am so glad I tried this for my ‘something different’ today. What was yours? Please share the experience with us in the comments below, and if you try this recipe, please let me know what you thought.
Cheers for today guys – thanks for reading and watching! Until the next Something Different post – keep very well, stay inspired, get creative and keep smiling!
